Responding to your last post: liturgy? Are you for real? I understand that our Baptist churches are spiritually bankrupt and your comments about the preachers' ability to recruit people and whatnot. I think it would be totally weird to recite creeds, do responsive readings, and do incense. Why incense, by the way? Did early churches use incense? I've been to churches (Lutheran, Presbyterian, Catholic, etc) with the recitations and responsive readings and it might because I wasn't brought up that way, it was uncomfortable for me. Anyway, I don't see how liturgy would help worship because people can sing and recite with their lips and not their hearts either way. SO, Doctor, I disagree with you. I don't have vaild reasons but that's just my opinion! :)

I appreciate your response. I'm not sure how to respond other than I think a liturgy is often more experiential then a traditional baptist service - in some ways a liturgy is more group participation by all people and less of a performance by a select few.

This is something that I am seriously considereding though. I have really thought about leaving school after this year and starting a liturgical baptist church.

BTW - incense was used in the OT so the use of incense is just following a biblical tradition.
